Activity across tracked servers is running as usual

178,701 players across 133 tracked servers — right about normal for this time of week.

Right in line with what's typical for this time of week — about 1% above its usual level, which is well inside the normal give and take across the servers we track.

28 of 125 servers with a settled baseline are below their own normal, and 7 are above — an ordinary spread, so the servers moving right now are moving on their own.

This counts the 133 servers we were already tracking four weeks ago, and the same 133in every hour of the chart — otherwise adding a big server to the site would look like Minecraft growing overnight. Each hour is the sum of what those servers reported; a server that was down for a whole hour counts as zero, because its players weren't playing. Hours where we polled less than most of the set are left out rather than drawn as a dip, since that would be our outage rather than anyone else's. The verdict is the same comparison every server page makes — this hour against what this hour of this weekday usually looks like — just applied to the total instead of to one server.

It is a sample, not a census: 133 servers we chose to watch, at one point on the internet, 60 minutes to a bucket. It says something real about them and nothing certain about Minecraft as a whole.
